Climbing a Tree

When was the last time you wished for something really hard? Having been schooled in a Catholic school all my life, I believed in the power of prayers. As a child, I would pray for trivial things like a new toy, to go somewhere fun or to get high grades in school. It's been years since I prayed for something really hard. This is not because I am losing faith but perhaps I really didn't want something as much as my heart desired.

Each one of us has our own faith depending on our own religion. It doesn't matter to whom you believe in. What matters is that you know that there is someone out there whom you can count on in times when matters are out of your hands. However, God helps only those who help themselves. It is not enough to just pray and pray and not do your part. It is not enough to be cocky and complacent. Laziness is not at all tolerated by Him.

In achieving our dreams in life, there are many pathways to take. It is usually not a straight line. You may need to go a step backward in order to move forward. Just like in climbing a tree, there are many ways to do it. Having brains is not enough. Having guts alone is also not enough. You need a mixture of both to reach the top combined with a lot of prayers to sustain you when things are getting tough. Surely, with this combination, you would reach the top of the tree.

St. Jude Thaddeus

Tomorrow is Thursday and just like any Thursdays, I will go to St. Jude for my weekly novena with my hubby. We already finished our novena but decided to continue it as our weekly devotion to him. I am a believer of St. Jude and my wishes were granted. But mind you, it took a long time before my prayers were answered. As what they say, "In God's time and not Our time".

Novenas are not meant to be a quick fix. It is meant to strengthen your faith. Thus, if there are times wherein you already finished 9 days of your novena and still nothing happens, don't fret.

Just wait... just be patient. Something good will happen!

Chesspiece

I am into this phase of my life wherein things have not been working out as planned. Frustrations and anxiety sometimes fill me. This is the point in my life wherein I find it most difficult to decide. Pondering how things should be... the what ifs.... etc. Seeking answers seems futile and makes me even more confused. I came across a small book that opened my eyes and made me realize how things should be. It had one clear message and that is I am a God's chesspiece. That I do not have to choose but just choose to be yielded and I will be taken cared of. Having this thought in mind made me relax and see the purpose of all these "stones" that I have right now. So for all those who are in a similar plight, keep in mind that you are a chesspiece. Trust in Him as He can see the whole picture. Keep the faith!
